Overview and Scope
This policy applies solely to the Praying Mentis iPhone application. It does not govern Nymlets or our studio website (prayingmentis.com), which is subject to our separate Website Privacy Policy.
Praying Mentis is designed to operate locally on your device. This policy explains what information the app stores and how Apple-managed device backups may affect that data. The app does not provide app-managed cloud synchronization.
Information We Do Not Collect
Outside of standard Apple platform services that you configure on your device, the app does not transmit practice history to Praying Mentis Games LLC or to a developer-operated server.
The app contains:
- No developer-operated accounts or logins
- No advertising networks or tracking pixels
- No third-party analytics SDKs
- No cross-app or cross-site tracking as defined by Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework
The app does not request microphone access: Sound Goblin asks you to notice sounds yourself and does not record them.
Data Storage and Synchronization
Local Storage: The app stores which practice you finished, its completion date and time, local-day and timezone information, and a locally generated completion identifier. It also stores your sound preference. These records support the daily practice limit and survive normal app relaunches. Practice works offline.
Device Backups: Device backups managed by Apple may include app data under your device settings. This is distinct from app-managed synchronization, which the app does not offer. Praying Mentis Games LLC cannot retrieve your local history through a developer-operated service.
Managing and Deleting Data: The in-app Delete practice history action requires confirmation. It removes completed-practice records from this installation and leaves the sound preference unchanged. It does not erase copies in older device backups. Deleting the app removes its local data; offloading retains app data. Restoring a device backup may restore an older copy.
Children's Privacy
Praying Mentis does not request names, ages, contact details, or user-written reflections. Praying Mentis Games LLC does not knowingly collect personal data from children through the app.
Beta Testing and Support
Apple handles App Store and TestFlight distribution. TestFlight automatically provides crash logs and usage data to Apple and the developer. Other device, build, tester, diagnostic, or feedback information may also be available depending on the distribution service, your submissions, and applicable Apple settings. This data is delivered through Apple's infrastructure, not an embedded analytics library.
The app may emit coarse local diagnostic categories about storage or audio errors; these are separate from practice history and contain no reflection text.

If you contact us by email for technical support or feedback, we receive the email address and information you submit. We use this correspondence solely to investigate bugs, resolve support issues, and maintain operational records. Please avoid including sensitive personal information in crash logs or screenshots.
Policy Updates
We may update this policy periodically to reflect game updates or legal requirements. Any revisions will be posted to this page with an updated effective date before the corresponding app release takes effect. Relevant App Store privacy disclosures will also be updated before that release.
